Leaders or Technologies
Throughout history leaders or technologies have arisen that have enabled people from one area of the planet to conquer (i.e. steal from) others. Their newfound prowess enabled them to impose their will and even project death far from their own homes.
This new millennia we inherit a patchwork quilt of attitudes and reasons seasoned with the information age. The question echoes... How do we know who to trust, who to believe now that all knowledge and subverted history is yours to pick through, if you're not too busy picking through rubble or waiting for food or water?

Trust your own heart and mind. You do not need someone to tell you what is right and wrong. That ability was provided as original equipment for nearly all of us.
Yes, horrible things have been done to many of us, currently and back through time. But this is a new time. A time of knowledge and understanding, a time of healing, not of retaliation and further sorrow.
The new millennium certainly deserves recognition as a chance to deal with our history, to reflect, understand, apologize and forgive, and to move on towards the future informed and united in purpose. The purpose of providing the best probable future for the planet and for the life it supports.
Why We Are
Planet and Life is an effort to urge our leaders to consider our lives and to move past ancient feudal ways. Our species must adapt, and if we don’t do it now it could be too late. If the Amazon Rain Forest becomes the Serengeti, then our home has a problem.
We all face a very consequential future. The nature of those challenges are mostly unknown, but the ones we do recognize must be dealt with as they arise. Our numbers must not be allowed to tip any of the balances too far. We may not be smart enough to fix it.
I am a retired primary care MD trained at a school of excellence. Past and present life, our planet and universe have been my lifelong courses of study. Every explanation of where life comes from falls short. I believe in a creator. The sum of it all is just too miraculous.
When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer I prayed for a favor for the sixth time in my life. That favor was granted to the disbelief of the surgeon and pathologist. Yes, cancer, but not the kind that kills you. Planet and Life is my task to pay back that great gift. A thank you for all of us.
